This month, An Xiao is thrilled to present her work at the W Hotel in Times Square. Caught, featured above, represents a new direction for her as she expands her explorations of impermanence to nature, especially fleeting moments between seasons. The photo appears as part of GLAAD OutAuction’s Best Emerging Artist Winners Exhibition and will also be on view at the auction itself.

Arts and Photography Editor at Boxcar Poetry Review
Posted at October 13, 2008
An Xiao has been named Arts and Photography Editor for Boxcar Poetry Review, a bimonthly online poetry journal showcasing the work of new and established poets. In addition to publishing outstanding poetry, it seeks to raise the profile of the next generation of poets by featuring reviews of first books and interviews with first book poets. It puts together an annual print anthology of works from the previous year.
In her role, An hopes to feature the work of emerging photographers and artists with a poetic sensibility in their work. As a poet herself, she’s very excited to be contributing to an important literary magazine and to be working with editor Neil Aitken, a fellow writer-cum-artist whose forthcoming book, The Lost Country of Sight, won the 2007 Philip Levine Prize. Her first involvement with the publication came as a contributor to their March 2008 issue.
The September 2008 issue is her first as Arts Editor, and it features the work of photographer Ron Moss.
